Class Notes: October 2019

Daniel J. Nicoll, MD’ 72 was recently awarded the honor of Medical Director of the Year by the National Health Care Antifraud Association.

Lorraine Tosiello, MD’ 81 still practices HIV medicine at two health centers in New York City and New Jersey, splitting time between Manhattan and the Jersey Shore. In December 2019, her first historical novel was published by Pink Umbrella Books. Only Gossip Prospers: A Novel of Louisa May Alcott in New York delves into the author’s actual trip to New York  City in 1875, where she straddles the worlds of the literary elite and the destitute of the city, causing her to reassess the worth of fame and fortune.

Theophilus Lewis, MD’ 78 LEWIS–Theophilus, MD. August 18, 1952 – October 27, 2019. The Department of Surgery, Kings County Hospital Center regrets to announce the sudden and untimely death of Dr. Theo Lewis, husband of S. Ulrich, MD (deceased). The backbone of our department, Theo was a valued friend, superb educator and excellent, caring breast surgeon. Our heartfelt condolences go to his children, Thea and Justin. Memorial Service at a later date. Published in The New York Times on Oct. 29, 2019
