SUNY Downstate Announcements:
August 10th: College of Medicine students Akya Myrie, MS4, and Antia Gomez, MS2, have been awarded the Associated Medical Schools of New York’s (AMSNY) Diversity in Medicine Scholarship for the 2020-21 academic year. Both students were awarded $42,000.
August 13th: The Queens Public Library hosted a virtual discussion entitled To Be Black in America: A Conversation on Racism with President Riley and Attorney General Leticia James. There Dr. Riley discussed the COVID-19 pandemic and healthcare disparities.
