SUNY Downstate Announcements: 

March 4th: “SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University announced on Tuesday the appointment of Dr. Mariana Markell as the senior associate dean for undergraduate medical education. She’ll continue to lead and manage the program in the new role, helping to design new educational and wellness programs and strengthen the curriculum, SUNY said. Markell also serves as professor of medicine in the division of nephrology.”

March 5th: SUNY Downstate’s Dr. Michael H. Augenbraun, M.D., Professor and Vice Chair of Medicine and Director, Division of Infectious Diseases was the lead participant in an hour long broadcast on News 12. Dr. Augenbraun answered questions regarding the Coronavirus outbreak.

March 16th: President Riley and the Coronavirus Preparedness Taskforce led a virtual town hall to discuss the ways in which Downstate is currently tackling the virus. To view the town hall click here.

March 28th: Governor Cuomo designates SUNY Downstate as a COVID-19 only site.
