SUNY Downstate Announcements:

February 26th: The Office of Diversity Education and Research hosted the 5th annual Dr. Samuel L. Kountz Lecture. The yearly lecture honors Dr. Kountz, the first African American transplant surgeon in the country, who founded the SUNY Downstate Transplant Program in 1965.

March 8th: Dr. Samuel Márquez, Professor in the Department of Cell Biology, Co-Discipline Director of Anatomy in the College of Medicine, and Director of Anatomy in the of School of Health Professions was elected to the Board of the American Association of Anatomists.
