November 27th: #GivingTuesday On Tuesday, November 27, the Alumni Association will be participating in the social media movement in efforts to decrease the debt of SUNY Downstate’s medical students. To help us reach our goal of $5,000 please donate here, and keep an eye out for the hashtag “#GivingTuesday”!
SUNY Downstate Announcements:
October 25th: SUNY Downstate alumna and residency director in the Department of Family Medicine, Eve Faber MD ’96, is featured in “Vaccine myths: 7 facts about vaccines everyone should know”. She tells ABC, some families would prefer natural immunity as opposed to vaccine immunity.
November 6th: SUNY Downstate alumni M. Monica Sweeny, MD ’75 and Pascal J. Imperato, MD ’62 were featured in “A leader in global healthcare research and education” where they discussed Downstate’s global impact through the Global Health in Developing Countries elective.
November 7th: The STAR program expands to Brookdale in the form of STAR Health Center (SHC)-Brookdale. It will serve as a primary care clinic run by both Downstate and Brookdale. https://www.bkreader.com/2018/11/07/brookdale-hospital-announces-new-hiv-health-center-in-brownsville/
