SUNY Downstate Announcements:

November: College of Medicine students, including second-year student Lora Stoianova have launched College of Medicine (LMIG) as an official chapter of the American College of Lifestyle Medicine (ACLM). "ACLM is the medical professional society providing quality education and certification to those dedicated to clinical and worksite practice of Lifestyle Medicine as the foundation of a transformed and sustainable health care system."


November 9th: Downstate launched the University-wide Surveillance Testing Program (a program developed by SUNY Upstate Medical Center), under the leadership of Jenny Libien, M.D.' 01, Ph.D., Chair of Pathology, Associate Professor of Pathology and Neurology and Alumni Association Board Member, Kitaw Demissie, M.D., Ph.D., School of Public Health Dean and Professor, Keydron Guinn, Ph.D., MBA, MA, Senior Vice President and Chief of Staff. The program "aims to rapidly detect, trace, and contain COVID-19 through pooled surveillance testing."


November 30th: SUNY Downstate has been awarded a $500K capital fund grant from Brooklyn Borough President Eric L. Adams to expand our existing BioBAT, "a joint partnership created by The Research Foundation for SUNY, on behalf of Downstate Health Sciences University, and The New York City Economic Development."
